The Platinum Ink Cleaner Kit is for the cases where it is not sufficient: when switching from a very dark or heavily pigmented ink to a lighter colour and residue is visible after water flushing; after using pigment-based inks (Kakimori, De Atramentis Document) where pigment particles can settle in the feed channels; when a pen has been stored unused with ink in it for an extended period and the ink has thickened or gelled in the channels; or when a hard start or skip has appeared that does not resolve with nib rinsing.
