The Nib Safety Net

"Gravity Happens. We’ve Got You Covered."

We know the heartbreak of a fountain pen hitting the floor. As a member of our Creative Rewards, you don't have to worry about the 'tines.' If the worst happens, just send us a photo and we'll send you a 50% discount for a fresh start.

"The Nib Safety Net" – Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility: This benefit is exclusive to active members of the Creative Rewards program at the time of the accident.
  • Coverage: The 50% discount applies strictly to accidental damage (e.g., dropping the pen) that renders the nib unusable. It does not cover intentional damage, loss of the pen, theft, or normal wear and tear.
  • The Claim: To activate your discount, you must provide a clear photo of the damaged nib and your original order number to oops@yourstore.com.
  • Limitations: This discount is valid for a one-time replacement per pen purchased and applies only to the cost of the replacement nib unit. It cannot be combined with other promotional codes or used for full pen replacements.
  • Availability: We will provide the discount for the exact nib model where stock is available. If the model is discontinued, we will offer a 50% discount on a comparable alternative nib unit.

British ink made since 1864
Diamine has been making ink in Liverpool for over 150 years. That longevity is not accidental — the formulation is reliable, safe in all fountain pens, and available in a wider range of colours than almost any competitor. The standard range covers everything from workhorse blues and blacks to unusual colours that most other ink makers do not attempt. For calligraphers, the Diamine range offers a broad colour selection at a price that makes experimenting with colour viable. For beginners, it is the natural starting point.

Honest Note:

Dye-based — not waterproof. Standard Diamine inks are maintenance-free in normal fountain pen use. They are suitable for calligraphy dip pens as well as fountain pens. The 50ml bottle is the standard size; some colours are also available in 30ml and 80ml — check current stock for specific sizes.

Who is it For?

  • Anyone buying their first bottled fountain pen ink — accessible, safe, reliable
  • Calligraphers who want a wide colour selection at a reasonable price point
  • Writers who want a dependable everyday ink in a range of colours
  • Anyone building a broad colour palette without committing to premium prices per bottle

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)

Is Diamine safe in vintage fountain pens?

Yes — Diamine standard inks are among the safest for vintage pens. Well-lubricated, mild formulation, no aggressive chemistry. Used by vintage pen restorers and collectors as a safe working ink.

Can I use Diamine for calligraphy dip pen work?

Yes — Diamine flows well in dip pens and the colour range makes it useful for calligraphers who want specific colours. It is not waterproof, so for finished archival calligraphy pieces use De Atramentis Document Black or another waterproof ink.

What is the difference between Diamine standard and Diamine Shimmertastic?

Standard Diamine contains no particles. Shimmertastic contains fine mica shimmer particles — they require more frequent pen maintenance. Both are stocked separately here.
