Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White — Opaque Correction & Highlight White

Bleed Proof White is the white illustrators reach for when a white has to cover black and stay white. It is dense and opaque enough to paint out mistakes in ink, and formulated so the black underneath does not bleed back through. Use it with a brush for corrections and highlights, or thin it for a dip pen.

The Nib Safety Net

"Gravity Happens. We’ve Got You Covered."

We know the heartbreak of a fountain pen hitting the floor. As a member of our Creative Rewards, you don't have to worry about the 'tines.' If the worst happens, just send us a photo and we'll send you a 50% discount for a fresh start.

"The Nib Safety Net" – Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility: This benefit is exclusive to active members of the Creative Rewards program at the time of the accident.
  • Coverage: The 50% discount applies strictly to accidental damage (e.g., dropping the pen) that renders the nib unusable. It does not cover intentional damage, loss of the pen, theft, or normal wear and tear.
  • The Claim: To activate your discount, you must provide a clear photo of the damaged nib and your original order number to oops@yourstore.com.
  • Limitations: This discount is valid for a one-time replacement per pen purchased and applies only to the cost of the replacement nib unit. It cannot be combined with other promotional codes or used for full pen replacements.
  • Availability: We will provide the discount for the exact nib model where stock is available. If the model is discontinued, we will offer a 50% discount on a comparable alternative nib unit.

Why most whites fail

Paint white over a black line and, with many whites, a grey ghost of the black slowly creeps back through. Bleed Proof White is formulated to block that, so a correction or highlight stays clean and bright.

A studio staple

Comic artists use it to fix stray lines and add sparkle to eyes and highlights; calligraphers thin it for white lettering on dark paper.

Honest Note:

It is a paint-like white rather than a free-flowing ink: it thickens in the jar and needs stirring, and you will usually add a little water for pen work. Keep the lid tight. It is not waterproof, so do not wash over it. For white writing from a dip pen straight out of the bottle, our Nicker Poster Colour White is easier to use; for tiny highlights in a pen-like format, see Copic Opaque White.

Who is it For?

• Comic and manga artists correcting inks and adding highlights
• Illustrators who need a white that covers black cleanly
• Calligraphers writing white on black or coloured paper (thinned)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)

How do I use it in a dip pen?

Stir, then mix a small amount with a few drops of water until it flows; load the nib with a brush.

It has thickened in the jar — is it ruined?

No. Stir in a little water to bring it back.

Bleed Proof White or Nicker Designers White?

Bleed Proof White for covering black; Nicker for smooth white lettering and fine white lines.
