Metallic that actually shows up on dark paper
Most metallic inks look impressive in the bottle and disappointing on the page — the shimmer sinks into the paper and turns into a flat mustard or grey. Kuretake’s mica ink sits on the surface, so the reflective particles catch the light even on black card. That is why calligraphers use it for wedding envelopes, place cards and seasonal greetings, and why illustrators use it for highlights that need to look like metal rather than beige.
Mix your own metallic
Gold and silver can be mixed together for a pale champagne or white-gold. Mix a small amount in a separate dish rather than in either bottle.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)
Will it work on black paper?
Yes — this is where it performs best. Both gold and silver stay bright and reflective on black and dark coloured card.
Why is my line coming out pale?
The mica has settled. Shake the bottle hard until it looks fully metallic, and re-shake every few minutes while you work.
Can I use it in a fountain pen?
No. The mica particles will clog the feed. Use dip pens, glass pens and brushes only.
