The upgrade from the T-25
The T-25 is the holder almost every manga artist starts with, and it does its job perfectly. The TAMO does the same job in a nicer material, with a thicker, shaped 12mm grip that spreads the pressure across your fingers — the difference you feel at the end of a three-hour inking session rather than the first ten minutes. Same nibs, same line; less fatigue.
Why tamo
Tamo is Japanese ash, a firm, lightweight hardwood with a clearly visible grain. Tachikawa finishes it with a matte clear coat rather than a gloss varnish, so the grip stays dry in the hand and ink wipes off rather than soaking into the wood.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)
TAMO or T-25 — which should I buy?
Start with the T-25 if you are new to dip pens. Choose the TAMO if you already ink regularly and want a more comfortable grip, or as a gift.
What is the included nib?
A brass-plated Tachikawa T-600 Saji (spoon) nib — firmer than a G-nib, with a fine, steady line and good ink capacity. You can swap it for any Tachikawa or Nikko nib.
Will European nibs fit?
The TAMO is designed around Tachikawa and Nikko nibs. European nibs vary in size, so fit is not guaranteed.
