Most black inks are formulated for one primary purpose. Deleter Black No. 4 is formulated for two: to reproduce perfectly and to be waterproof when dry. The carbon black pigment produces a dense, flat matte black that a standard office photocopier or flatbed greyscale scanner reads as maximum black without any graining, ghosting, or uneven density. It also dries fully waterproof — watercolour washes and alcohol-based markers (Copic, Neopiko, Promarker) can be applied over dried Deleter Black No. 4 linework without lifting or bleeding. This combination of photocopy-optimised reproduction and waterproof permanence makes it the highest-quality ink in the Deleter range and the production standard for manga artists who colour digitally after scanning or who add marker or watercolour colour to analogue pages.
The critical warning — not for fountain pens
Carbon black inks contain carbon particles in suspension. In a dip pen, these particles are harmless — the nib is dipped into the ink and cleaned afterward. In a fountain pen, the particles will settle in the feed channels and clog the pen, potentially irreversibly. Deleter Black No. 4 is for dip pens and brush pens only, without exception. Never use it in a fountain pen. This restriction is stated by Deleter on the product itself.

We know art supplies are fragile. All professional pair and boards are shipped in reinforced rigid flat mailers. No tubes, no folds, no crushed corners.

Returns
30-Day Change of Mind:
We offer a 30-day return window (exceeding the UK legal minimum of 14 days). Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in "as-new" condition.
Faulty Goods:
In the rare event of a defect, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement within 30 days. We will cover all return shipping costs for faulty items.
Defective Nibs:
Occasionally, a pen may arrive dry or a nib maybe scratchy. Contact us within 7 days of purchase with a photo/video of the issue and we will send a replacement immediately.
Exclusions:
Due to the nature of the product, unless faulty we cannot accept returns on opened markers or used paper pads returned.
Digital Goods:
The "Birthday Palette" and other digital downloads are non-refundable once accessed.
