Why Luddite
Luddite takes its name from the 19th-century weavers who resisted machines — a statement of intent from a Japanese maker that builds everyday goods from traditional materials. Its canvas comes from Kurashiki in Okayama, where heavy cotton has been woven since the late 1800s: several strands of yarn are twisted together and woven slowly on vintage shuttle looms, which is why it is so dense and hard-wearing.
A case that becomes a tray
Most pen cases make you dig. The Bendy unclips and lies open on the desk or café table, with every pen in its own slot and the zip compartments either side for an eraser, nibs, leads or a water brush. When you are done, fold it back up and clip it shut.
