Platinum #3776 Century — Bourgogne, Gold Trim, 14K SF

The Platinum #3776 Century is Platinum’s flagship fountain pen, named for the height of Mount Fuji. This version pairs a translucent Bourgogne — the deep red of Burgundy wine — with gold trim and a 14K Soft Fine nib that has a gentle, cushioned spring. "The Nib Safety Net" – Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility: This benefit is exclusive to active members of the Creative Rewards program at the time of the accident.
  • Coverage: The 50% discount applies strictly to accidental damage (e.g., dropping the pen) that renders the nib unusable. It does not cover intentional damage, loss of the pen, theft, or normal wear and tear.
  • The Claim: To activate your discount, you must provide a clear photo of the damaged nib and your original order number to oops@yourstore.com.
  • Limitations: This discount is valid for a one-time replacement per pen purchased and applies only to the cost of the replacement nib unit. It cannot be combined with other promotional codes or used for full pen replacements.
  • Availability: We will provide the discount for the exact nib model where stock is available. If the model is discontinued, we will offer a 50% discount on a comparable alternative nib unit.

Platinum since 1919

Platinum was founded in 1919 by Shunichi Nakata and is one of Japan’s three great fountain pen makers. It is best known for two inventions working pen users rely on: Slip & Seal, a cap that stops pens drying out, and Carbon Black, a pigment ink safe for fountain pens.

Why Soft Fine

Platinum’s fine nibs are among the finest in the world — an F writes like a European extra-fine. The Soft Fine keeps that precision but adds spring: press a little and the line swells slightly, giving handwriting and sketches some life. It is not a flex nib, but it is one of the most pleasant everyday gold nibs made.

Honest Note:

Soft Fine offers modest line variation, not calligraphic flex — press too hard and the line will dry out rather than widen. Japanese fine is very fine: if you are used to European nibs and want a smoother, wetter line, consider a medium. Platinum pens take Platinum cartridges and converters only (an adapter is available for international cartridges).

Who is it For?

• Fountain pen users who want one excellent Japanese gold-nib pen
• Writers and sketchers who like a fine line with a little spring
• Anyone who uses a pen intermittently and is tired of hard starts — the Slip & Seal cap solves it
• A considered gift — the Bourgogne colour is a classic

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)

What does Slip & Seal actually do?

A spring-loaded inner cap seals the nib airtight when capped, so ink does not evaporate. Pens can sit unused for months and still write first time.

How fine is Soft Fine?

About a European extra-fine, with a little cushion and gentle line variation under pressure.

Can I use Carbon Black in it?

Yes — Platinum Carbon Black is designed for Platinum pens. Flush it regularly.
