Platinum since 1919
Platinum was founded in 1919 by Shunichi Nakata and is one of Japan’s three great fountain pen makers. It is best known for two inventions working pen users rely on: Slip & Seal, a cap that stops pens drying out, and Carbon Black, a pigment ink safe for fountain pens.
A reset for a tired pen
Most pen cleaning is a rinse with water. But pigment inks like Carbon Black, or a pen left inked for months, can leave residue in the feed that water will not shift. Platinum’s cleaner loosens it; the dropper forces solution through the nib unit from behind, where it matters.
