The Nib Safety Net

"Gravity Happens. We’ve Got You Covered."

We know the heartbreak of a fountain pen hitting the floor. As a member of our Creative Rewards, you don't have to worry about the 'tines.' If the worst happens, just send us a photo and we'll send you a 50% discount for a fresh start.

"The Nib Safety Net" – Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility: This benefit is exclusive to active members of the Creative Rewards program at the time of the accident.
  • Coverage: The 50% discount applies strictly to accidental damage (e.g., dropping the pen) that renders the nib unusable. It does not cover intentional damage, loss of the pen, theft, or normal wear and tear.
  • The Claim: To activate your discount, you must provide a clear photo of the damaged nib and your original order number to oops@yourstore.com.
  • Limitations: This discount is valid for a one-time replacement per pen purchased and applies only to the cost of the replacement nib unit. It cannot be combined with other promotional codes or used for full pen replacements.
  • Availability: We will provide the discount for the exact nib model where stock is available. If the model is discontinued, we will offer a 50% discount on a comparable alternative nib unit.

TWSBI is known for transparent demonstrator bodies and piston-fill mechanisms at an accessible price point, but the real reason it earns this slot is the nib unit system: the nib, feed, and housing come as one self-contained unit that unscrews and swaps in seconds, with no special tools. Once a customer owns one Eco or 580 body, adding a 1.1 Stub nib unit doesn't mean buying a second pen — it means buying a second nib. That's a genuinely different value proposition from most stub pens, and it directly answers the progression gap left once a letterer outgrows the Parallel.

Honest Note:

TWSBI piston pens are not designed to be disassembled casually — over-tightening or repeated full disassembly of the piston mechanism can wear the seal over time. Customers should clean by flushing with water through normal fill-and-empty cycles rather than fully dismantling the pen unless genuinely necessary.

Who is it For?

  • Hand letterers who've outgrown the Pilot Parallel Pen's single fixed width
  • Anyone who wants to try multiple nib grinds without buying multiple pen bodies
  • Customers who want a large ink capacity for long lettering or journalling sessions without frequent refilling

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS (FAQ)

Do I need to buy a whole new pen for each nib width?

No — buy the body once, then add nib units as needed. Each unit swaps in by unscrewing the old one and screwing in the new one; no tools required.

Eco or 580 — what's the difference?

The 580 has a slightly larger ink capacity, a faceted barrel, and a few additional finish options; the Eco is the simpler, slightly more affordable body. Both accept the same nib units, so the choice is really about size and finish preference rather than function.

Will the piston filling system work with any ink?

Yes — it's a standard piston mechanism that fills directly from any bottled ink, no cartridges or converters needed.
