The &Liebe Roll Pen Case is a five-slot Tochigi leather pen roll from Japan, closed with a solid brass button instead of the cord used on almost every other roll case. The interior is lined with Toray Ultra Suede and a full-length protective flap covers all five pens when rolled, so barrels and clips never come into contact with each other in transit.

Packaging: 

We know art supplies are fragile. All professional pair and boards are shipped in reinforced rigid flat mailers. No tubes, no folds, no crushed corners.

Returns

30-Day Change of Mind: 

We offer a 30-day return window (exceeding the UK legal minimum of 14 days). Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in "as-new" condition.

Faulty Goods: 

In the rare event of a defect, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement within 30 days. We will cover all return shipping costs for faulty items.

Defective Nibs: 

Occasionally, a pen may arrive dry or a nib maybe scratchy. Contact us within 7 days of purchase with a photo/video of the issue and we will send a replacement immediately.

Exclusions:

Due to the nature of the product, unless faulty we cannot accept returns on opened markers or used paper pads returned.

Digital Goods: 

The "Birthday Palette" and other digital downloads are non-refundable once accessed.

Why the brass button matters

The cord is the standard closure for a roll pen case, and the standard closure has a consistent problem: it takes two hands, several rotations, and a reasonable amount of patience to close properly. The founder of &Liebe used roll cases for years before deciding the cord was simply the wrong mechanism — so he replaced it with a solid brass button. Roll the case, press the button once, done. The button develops a patina alongside the Tochigi leather over time, becoming a visual companion to the aging exterior rather than a fixed metal fastener that stays unchanged while everything around it develops character.

The case itself took six months and six prototype rounds to reach this design. The full-length protective flap — which covers all five pens when the case is rolled rather than leaving clips exposed and pressing against neighbouring barrels — is the detail that came out of that process. It is the difference between a pen case that looks after your pens and one that merely holds them.

Honest Note:

The 160mm pen length limit is firm — pens longer than this will not fit regardless of how they are positioned inside the case. Check your specific pen’s capped length before purchasing if you own an oversized model. The brass button requires a little deliberate pressure to snap shut on first use while the leather is breaking in; this eases naturally over the first few weeks of daily use.

How does the protective flap work?

When the case is rolled and buttoned, the flap covers the full length of all five pens — clips, barrel sections, and all. Without it, rolling a pen case brings every pen into contact with its neighbours, which is what scuffs expensive barrels over time.

Will it hold a Montblanc 149 or similar large pen?

he two left-hand slots are intentionally wider than standard for large-barrel pens. The maximum pen length is 160mm capped — a Montblanc 149 is 168mm capped and will not fit. Measure your pen before purchasing if it is an oversized model.
