The grey areas, shadow fills, skin tones, and background textures seen in printed manga are applied with screentone sheets: the artist cuts the sheet to the shape of the area to be toned, carefully lifts the cut piece, positions it over the artwork, and burnishes firmly to adhere it. The 61-01 pattern is the production standard regular dot — a mid-density, even halftone dot that works correctly at the reduction ratios used in standard manga printing. It is the first screentone pattern an analogue manga artist needs, the most versatile, and the pattern that defines the visual character of traditional manga toning.
Application — the technique in practice
Screentone application requires two tools: a craft knife for cutting and a burnisher (or smooth pen body) for adhering. Place the screentone over the area to be toned with the backing still on. Use a lightbox or hold the page to a window to see the artwork through the semi-transparent film. Mark the cutting line lightly, then cut along the edge of the area to be toned. Lift the cut piece carefully — the adhesive side faces down. Position over the artwork, press gently to tack in place, check alignment, then burnish firmly from the centre outward to fully adhere. The adhesive is repositionable briefly before full pressure is applied; once burnished it bonds permanently.

Returns
30-Day Change of Mind:
We offer a 30-day return window (exceeding the UK legal minimum of 14 days). Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in "as-new" condition.
Faulty Goods:
In the rare event of a defect, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement within 30 days. We will cover all return shipping costs for faulty items.
Defective Nibs:
Occasionally, a pen may arrive dry or a nib maybe scratchy. Contact us within 7 days of purchase with a photo/video of the issue and we will send a replacement immediately.
Exclusions:
Due to the nature of the product, unless faulty we cannot accept returns on opened markers or used paper pads returned.
Digital Goods:
The "Birthday Palette" and other digital downloads are non-refundable once accessed.
